Fil's GNU software
If it's GNU and you hack it, you gotta share!

- Tesseract OCR - needed something to recognize text on FAX messages (to determine who sent it, what it contains, who its for, and its orientation) and this is a recently-released Open Source project from the folks at HP and Google. This page has links to everything you need and then some..
- soundgrab - need something to chop .WAV audio files and export chunks to OGG or MP3? This is for you. Added templates to original code. No longer used weekly as I found mp3directcut which is a free, windows-based MP3 frame editor - right, it does not decode the source file so there is no penalty in quality! I have writte several perl scripts to deal with .CUE files - I will post them when after cleaning them up a bit.
- Issue-Tracker - my hacks to this wonderful problem/assigment/solution database system. A life-saver for those of us who have to pamper customers and shower them with support :) Alas, the development of IT has waned - there have been two forks (of the 4.0.4 version) to WorkTracker and EnterTrack
- openCRX - a comprehensive, web-based CRM (alas needs a J2EE server) which you won't believe you actually lived without. It has an issue-tracker-like functionality built in (but I like both of them, not everone needs a CRM!) See http://www.opencrx.org/
- VOCPhax Hacks -
My hacks of VOCPhax
to support folders, multi-page selection code, and a lot of goodies that turned a shell of a program into something that's usable by a busy office. A work-in-progress with several offices actively using it as their only means of receiving faxes. Version in the works for sending but demand is low so work on it is low :-).
- Lynx - a text-only web browser for
the hacker and novice alike. Can not live without it!
Hmmm... maybe there're still a line or two of my original hack (multi-bookmark support - I wish Mozilla had one!) in there... but I don't recognize any of it ;-)
That's it? Nope, there will be more as I take on new jobs that require new hacks.
